Ujjain South MLA Mohan Yadav will be the next chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, the BJP announced Monday. Yadav will replace Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the former chief minister who served four terms.
He has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Ujjain on three occasions and held the position of education minister in the previous government under the leadership of Chouhan.
“This is for new energy, new hope, new development .. in the new India Modiji is working for, Madhya Pradesh will lead as a model. The state under new leadership will fulfil his dreams,” BJP general secretary and party MLA Kailash Vijayvargiya told.
Yadav was awarded by the President in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 for tourism development in Madhya Pradesh.
